Job Description

The Role 

The VP Regulatory Affairs is responsible for Regulatory, Licensing, Due Diligence and Product compliance matters; Reports to and supports the Chief Legal Officer in all matters within the Compliance Department, including adherence to the Compliance Plan and preparing for and addressing the Compliance Committee; Advises the Company, its key executives and its employees relative to various gaming or regulatory issues; Conducts investigations as necessary or directed; Oversees the Company’s communications with regulatory authorities, including disciplinary matters. 

 

 

Specific responsibilities include:  

  • Protects the regulatory compliance status of the company, its executives, directors and employees and all products by planning and leading the development and operation of processes to ensure that the company conforms to regulatory requirements at all times in all relevant jurisdictions  

  • Oversee the obtaining and maintaining of all corporate and individual licenses, managing regulatory investigations, resolving regulatory matters/disputes and ensuring continuing compliance with the rules, regulations, policies and controls promulgated by regulatory authorities 

  • Responsible for management of all regulatory inquiries, disputes and field issues 

  • Within the context of the company’s strategic plans and policies, creates and oversees the execution of strategies, policies and operating plans of the regulatory compliance organization, and leads the development and implementation of strategic initiatives that support mid to long term company strategies, including the removal of regulatory barriers 

  • Responsible for the day-to-day administration, management and operation of the of the Compliance Department. 

  • Provide guidance and advice on regulatory compliance matters to the Chief Legal Officer, the Compliance Committee, Company executives and personnel 

  • Identify the training needs of section personnel 

  • Prepare evaluations as required 

  • Analyze licensing needs and costs and eliminate duplication 

  • Supervise outside counsel performing regulatory legal work 

  • Primary liaison to regulatory agencies relative to licensing or regulatory issues and regularly interacts and develops professional relationships with representatives of significant influence at regulatory authorities 

  • Represent the Company and appear with Executives before regulatory agencies 

  • Provide training on regulatory and licensing matters 

  • Work with primary decision-makers relative to gaming law and regulatory framework for new product and new business development worldwide 

  • Oversee maintenance and updating of gaming regulations and requirements relative to sale of gaming product, shipping, licensing, software submissions/approvals and jurisdiction specific issues 

  • Conduct investigations relative to gaming regulatory agency inquiries 

  • Work with our technical teams to understand market regulations and pursue/obtain/maintain product and lab approvals 

  • Other duties as assigned 

 

Qualifications

The Individual  

 

Required: 

  • 8 or more years of significant experience in gaming regulatory affairs  

 

Preferred: 

  • Law degree  

  • Prior management or supervisory experience 

  • Employment with one or more gaming regulatory agencies
