Job Description

The Role 

The VP Sportsbook Commercial is accountable for the delivery and growth of new and existing revenue in the Sportsbook division. The role will drive the strategy for new business, new opportunities, and developing the revenue and opportunities within existing accounts. This role will cover EMEA and APAC. 

Our solutions are broadly offered under the OpenSports banner: 

  • OpenBet - Sportsbetting engine to the largest operators in the world. 

  • OpenTrade - Trading and Risk Management solution offering 200k events in-play per annum 

  • OpenEngage - Retail and digital interfaces for customers to engage with including Desktop, Mobile Web, Mobile App, Retail EPOS, SSBT and In-Venue display. 

  • OpenPlatform -supports online interactive game play and enables the deployment of software applications for sports, casino, lottery, bingo, poker, mini-games and social games over web-based, tablet/mobile, and social media applications. 

  • OpenMarket - Sportsbetting aggregation of feeds, streaming, scoreboard and related content from all key industry providers. 

  • OpenAccelerate - Our operations and marketing services to support and grow our business for our customers via acquisition and retention and day-to-day operational support. 

  • OpenServices - Professional technology services provided through our skilled experts to help operators grow and manage their business 


Specific responsibilities include:  

  • Evangelise the power of our Open Sports and Open Services platform and componentsDeliver annual and quarterly targets for revenue and gross profit derived from new and existing customers. Identify opportunities and build a pipeline of prioritized deals focused on growing the EMEA/APAC markets 

  • Drive new sales by identifying opportunities across the Sportsbook ecosystem  

  • Forecast and deliver a high-value sales funnel across EMEA and APAC. 

  • Negotiate contracts with existing customers for further growth and up-sell opportunities of existing products and features.  

  • Develop and nurture C-level relationships across the industry to build long term partnerships with market-leading customers.  

  • Develop and be accountable for KPI sales reports which can be used to track monthly and quarterly budget alignment.  

  • Create new cross-team partnerships to drive collaboration and maximise the success and return across existing and new product 

  • Be a first-class presenter and ensure that the senior executive team receives detailed and insightful analysis of the market, commercial performance and the sales pipeline on a consistent basis 

  • Collect and provide market insights, collaborating with the Sports Product Team to ensure the product requirements and product roadmap are in alignment with customer needs. 

  • Collaborate with other Commercial Leaders on global sales initiatives 

The Individual  

This role requires advanced knowledge of the Sports betting market (retail and digital), regulatory dynamics and sportsbetting product ecosystem as well as: 

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent  

  • 10 years commercial experience 

  • Innovative sales strategy development and pricing experience 

  • Understanding of Sports player experiences and operators business drivers  

  • Excellent relationship and negotiation skills at C - level 

  • A self-starter who manages their own time to deliver on the goals of the role  

  • Ability to take direction  

  • Positive attitude, structured and thorough 

  • Attention to detail an absolute must both in terms of appearance and working methods 

  • Professional attitude and persona towards colleagues and external parties 

  • Ability to build and sustain strong business relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
