Job Description

Technical Operations are responsible for maintaining the infrastructure and software solutions hosted in our global data centers, which deliver SG Digital’s SaaS solutions to B2B customers worldwide 24/7. As a Technical Operations Engineer you will be responsible for ensuring that our customer-facing applications are maintained and installed correctly. The role involves both production deployment and maintenance work as well as working on new customer implementation projects. The products you are working on are running on both Linux and Microsoft platforms. You will be focusing on technology and software and handling incoming incidents, change requests and problems. You will also be working closely with the product and development teams to ensure we get the most out of the software.

Responsibilities

  • Application management and deployment on SG Digital sites

  • Performing installations and upgrades of applications according to SG Digital release process

  • Driving operational requirements towards development and product management organizations

  • Verifying releases on an operational level such as stability and maintainability.

  • Preparation of releases before live deployment

  • Handling of incoming incidents, change requests, problems and in-depth root cause analyses

  • Documentation from an application operations perspective. knowledge base articles, operation manuals, deployment instructions, incident and problem notes. 

Qualifications

We are looking for a person who has previous experience of working with Systems Administration or in a DevOps role. We believe that you love troubleshooting and get excited when you need to investigate new features. You are a flexible team player with strong problem-solving skills, have a passion for business and the ability to communicate with different stakeholders within the organization. You are curious and always want to improve yourself as well as the team. We also believe you have:

 

  • At least 5 years coherent experience of IT support and system administration in Linux and application management.

  • In depth architectural knowledge, focused on monitoring and operation of applications.

  • Experience of working with tools like Git and Ansible for configuration and automation.

  • A good understanding of networking and database operations and architecture.

  • ITIL knowledge and understanding.

  • An attention to detail

  • High proficiency in English

  • Knowledge of a selection of the following additional technologies

    • Splunk

    • Prometheus

    • Grafana

    • Zabbix

    • Java

    • Python
