Job Description

SG Digital provides a player facing Portal UI for the SG Digital account, casino, and sportsbook product verticals which is used by our B2C operators.  We’re looking for a technologist who’s a gamechanger and wants to get involved in wider strategic challenges that go beyond the tech. 


The main remit for this role to start with will be to lead a technology transition.  You will own the technology roadmap and teams currently focused on completing our new Portal platform - Fusion.   In parallel you with also be a key driver in the strategic planning for putting the existing platform into maintenance mode, cross training teams and migrating operators. 


Beyond the launch of the new Fusion Portal the longer term goals will require you to help evolve the product and technology strategy, transforming Fusion to become a flexible set of API’s and widgets operators can use to reflect their brand own more easily.


In this role you will be given responsibility for leading (offshore and nearshore) teams responsible for creating scalable product solutions that run on our leading edge online platform. This will ensure you take our products and your career to the next level.  Finally as the most senior person in our Athens development centre you will also assume the role of site manager.  This will require you to get involved in wider company conversations ranging from office to HR issues, working with senior the exec team.   


The Senior Director of Engineering position at SG Digital consists of a balance of 4 main areas of responsibility:


?     Technical leadership: Understand the product, technologies and strategy, applying that knowledge to guide future direction.  Responsibility for defining technology governance, the engineering process and quality of deliverables.

?     Team leadership:  Build a team whose core values are instilled in striving for best practice.  Foster a culture of constant learning and coaching for the development managers and their teams.

?     Domain Knowledge: Experience of leading engineering on a SaaS or PaaS type model or comparable arena with high traffic volumes.  

?     Board of Director/General Manager Responsibilities This role will also take on a leadership role for our Athens office.



Key Responsibilities


?        Accountable for capacity planning, project scoping, requirements and estimates of new features.

?        Responsible for roadmap planning, ownership of resource planning and team allocation.

?        Responsible for the technology strategy and ensuring governance is in place.

?        Fostering a strong cohesive working relationship with architecture and delivery teams.

?        Accountable for QA strategy and ensuring there is a drive towards automated testing.

?        Accountable administrative functions such as reporting, recruitment, hiring staff/contractors and introducing/training of new staff.

?      Legal responsibility for the company in line with Board of Director Duties

?      General Management of Athens office including but not limited to smooth site operation, overall team spirit, local company brand positioning.
