We are looking for an exceptional Principal QA/Automation Engineer, with strong skills in Agile Development and Automation Testing, to join one of our customers’ team in a rapid development environment creating bespoke and customised automated testing solutions across highly complex, high transactional Sportsbook systems.

As a Principal QA/Automation Engineer with us, you’ll have exposure to these systems and more, as you take our products and your career to the next level. The Principal QA Engineer is expected to actively contribute to the overall technical strategy for OpenBet deliverables. The Principal QA Engineer is expected to be highly technical, perhaps originally from a software engineering background.

Job Description

We are looking for an exceptional Principal QA/Automation Engineer, with strong skills in Agile Development and Automation Testing, to join one of our customers’ team in a rapid development environment creating bespoke and customised automated testing solutions across highly complex, high transactional Sportsbook systems.

The Principal QA Engineer is expected to actively contribute to the overall technical strategy for OpenBet deliverables.

Indicative tasks include, but are not limited to:

  • Work with Engineering and Operational Excellence management teams to drive through best practice, techniques and technology, notably around CI/CD and test tooling;
  • Work with Project Management to qualify automation demand based on business cases and product definitions and to provide milestones and regular reviews of these to ensure test plans are on track;
  • Help drive and work with teams to enhance Automation testing framework for use within the project and areas needed to have more coverage.
  • Where required, to assist in the preparation of test plans and test scripts for OpenBet deliverables. 
  • Increase automation coverage on Integration and features and work on gap areas first having low or no automation coverage.
  • Ensuring structured feedback is provided to the development teams and to ensure the work is carried out in accordance with the agreed project schedule and quality requirements.

Qualifications

The Principal QA Engineer is expected to be highly technical, perhaps originally from a software engineering background with 6-10 years of coding experience in Java on UNIX/Linux.

If you are the right candidate for us you will be able to demonstrate: 

  •  A minimum of 4-6 years’ experience with TDD and / or BDD, with hands-on experience of Gherkin and Cucumber. 
  • Extensive hands-on experience of development, coding, using automated test tools such as Selenium, Postman, Appium, REST API or similar. Familiarity on Open source knowledge will be necessary for this role.
  • Should have worked in lead roles such as development, design, reviews, estimation, team management and code reviews. 
  • Having sound knowledge on integration with AWS, Browser stack, Device farms will be of definite advantage over others.
  • Ability to work as part of a senior management group leading the OpenBet programme.

It would also be great to see these skills/experiences as well:

  •  A working understanding of Docker, Ansible, Maven, Jenkins and Git (BitBucket)
  • Working knowledge on Locust ( for load testing ), Python and Kubernetes will be preferred.
  • Should be opinionated, especially about quality and test frameworks.
